Fire Damage Remediation
A fire damage is one of the most traumatic experiences for a homeowner or property manager, for a number of reasons:
Obviously, fire destroys everything inside a home or office building. What’s not talked about as much is the damage from the water used to put the fire out. More often than not, fire damage results in water damages too.
Apart from the heat destroying the contents and structure of the building, the largest source of damage is smoke. In a very short period of time smoke can travel through an entire building sticking to every surface. What this means is that soot needs to be removed from every surface before it can be sealed and repainted.
Psychological trauma is very common for residents after a fire damage has taken place. The faintest smell of smoke can trigger post traumatic stress for residents in a home or employees in an office. Unless treated properly, the home or office will always smell like smoke.
All the contents that were in the home/office building that weren’t destroyed will need to be packed out, wiped down, and placed into an ozone chamber to remove the smell of smoke.
